When I first decided to start a blog, I was bombarded with thoughts of “Who is going to read this?” “What is my target audience?” “How would I be perceived?” Only to realize that I have so much to say that I wanted to write to anyone that would read and could take from it what it was that they needed. So to whoever is reading, I am writing because although I know that my truth will not be for everyone, I am living in it anyway – without any hesitation. I started writing to help others. I started writing because I have been through things both good and bad that are unimaginable and have made it to the other side of it still understanding that this life I live has a tremendous purpose. I started writing to improve the fluidity of my feelings through words; to make sense and look back on things in the future and understand that this point in time, the present – was just the beginning.
I started writing for me. To heal, to learn, to grow and ultimately to regain a part of myself that was suppressed beneath years of hearing “you don’t matter”, “no one cares what you have to say” and that general overall feeling of being misunderstood. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to read my writing. You are appreciated more than you will ever know.
